How do I join
Sigma Alpha Iota?

Requirements for Joining:

   

  • Demonstrate a sincere interest in music and be willing to uphold the ideals of Sigma Alpha Iota

  • Identify as female or non-binary

  • Have a cumulative (Temple University) GPA of at least 2.5

  • Complete at least 1 semester at Temple, with at least 1 credit in music

  • Participate in Member-in-Training lessons

  • Pass the National Exam

  • Comply with all financial obligations​

  • Complete at least 1 service event with the chapter during the MIT process

  • Hold at least 1 fundraiser for the MIT class prior to initiation

  • Participate in 1 Musicale for the chapter prior to initiation

*You do not need to be a music major or minor in order to join Sigma Alpha Iota!* 

What are the requirements for staying in the chapter?

Requirements for Membership:

   

  • Maintain a Temple University GPA of 2.5

  • Participate in all fundraising events

  • Participate in at least 2 Social Sisterhood credits each semester

  • Participate in a minimum of 2 service events per semester

  • Participate in a minimum of 2 Musicales per semester

  • Attend all Major Chapter Events (unless excused)

  • Comply with all financial obligations
